Horror
In a wrestling match somewhere in Mexico,
two female wrestlers dressed head to toe in colourful
catwoman-like costumes fight it out to the cheers
of the large crowd. One of the wrestlers (Lucy
Ossorio) eventually manages to flip her green garbed
opponent out of the ring where she lands awkwardly.
Noticing this Lucy runs to the ropes and is appalled
to see her opponent carted off to the local hospital.
In the dressing room after the fight Lucy discusses
her feelings with her lover (Silvestre) and starts
to have doubts about the whole messy wrestling
business.
Running parallel
to this soul-searching, a certain Dr Krallman and
his trusty sidekick Goyo are in the process of
nicking an orang-utan from the local zoo. Krallman
needs the ape so that he can use the animals heart
in a transplant operation, the latter being a last
ditch effort to save his son Julio from leukemia.
Some time
later the surgery starts but when Julio wakes up
his body immediately alters and, apart from being
twice the size he once was, his head transforms
into that of an ape. Breaking free, the monster
smashes through the lab window and proceeds to
create merry hell outside. He eventually stops
at a nearby apartment to ravish its young female
owner while outside the womans neighbours stand
around and wonder what to do.
Trying to
find the monster before the authorities catch him,
Krallman and Goyo eventually manage to drug the
apeman and haul him back to their surgery. Resolving
to fix the transformation problem Krallman and
Goyo then go about stealing the body of the female
wrestler who had been injured in the fight at the
beginning of the film. Secretly going back to the
hospital where Krallman works they steal the body
and cart the unfortunate woman back to their basement
surgery. Once there they take her heart out and
put it in Julio's body.
But it seems
to be too little too late. Julio smashes his way
out of the surgery once more, the new heart from
the wrestler having no effect at all. Running around
the neighbourhood the monster attacks a young couple
but somehow the woman manages to escape and raise
the alert.
Eventually
though the monster is snared, with none other than
Martinez leading the hunt. However, when the monster
is caught we see that he has transformed back into
Julio and he is whisked off to the hospital under
Police supervision.
Unfortunately,
some time later the transformation reverses again
and the insatiable monster runs amok, grabbing
a young girl in the process and venturing out onto
the roof of the hospital.
In a final
stand-off Krallman manages to get the monster to
give the young girl to him. Seizing the opportunity
the Police, grouped out on the street below, fire
at the monster and he falls to the ground.
Watching
all of this happen is Krallman, who stares unbelievably
at what used to be his son. Meanwhile, driving
away from the scene, Lucy says to Arturo that "it's
unfortunate. Really sad."
